Sikkim, Meghalaya and cultivated throughout India. It's
cultivated in tropical Africa, Philippines, Leeward Islands,

Descriptions
It is a perennial shrub. Leaves are glossy,
ovate to lanceolate in shape, and arranged alternately along
the stems. Flowers are funnel-shaped and occur in clusters
at the ends of the branches. Each flower has five petals and
is typically a pale to medium red color. Fruits are small,
spherical capsules containing seeds.

Leaf paste applied as a poultice to cure headaches
and rheumatism.
