It is a shrubby perennial herb characterized by its erect stems and dense foliage. Leaves are lanceolate to ovate in shape, with toothed margins and a velvety texture. The plant produces tubular flowers that are bright yellow-orange, clustered at the ends of its branches. Its fruits are small capsules containing numerous seeds.
